I work in the Language Departament of Universidad Simón Bolívar. This department is very well appreciated within the USB community for the quality of its professors and academic programs. I feel very proud of being one of them, since we constitute a very cohesive group ready to face new challenges in spite of the growing economical constraints. I had the privilege to be the Head of the Language Department for the two year period September 2003 - August 2005. The efficiency and commitment of both the academic and administrative personnel made my job progress in an easier way.
This department is located in the second floor of the General Studies Building, surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Visiting my firt Wiki at http://baw-06.pbwiki.com/MarianelaNajul and seeing some of the pictures you will get an idea of the place.

My View

This is my view since I moved to my new place three months ago. The mountain in front is still El Ávila, and the contrast found in Caracas is there as well.
I enjoy my view very much, specially when I'm sharing nice moments with my husband, family and friends.

Caracas a city of contrasts

I was born in Caracas, a beautiful valley of approximately four million people. The city, the capital of Venezuela, is surrounded by "El Avila"*, an amazing mountain that warmly hugs the city. It is located north the country*, very close to the shore.
The geographical composition of the city makes it vey versatile, either you live up or down the hill people find pleasure at will: squares*, parks*, museums*, theaters*, shopping areas, night clubs, bars*, restaurants. Nice buildings and houses, wonderful views, trees and flowers among the concrete and a privileged climate make Caracas an attrative city to live in.
Unfortunately, this valley has another side, another view, a belt of misery*: the slums*. People are trapped in this underworld, far from education, comfort and opportunities, but filled with hopes.
The two contrasting worlds cohabiting in the same city, pursuing their own dreams.
